Because they’re two of the biggest stars to come out of the American Idol franchise, and the latest season was just about wrapping up, the website Tylt asked their followers back in April who the most iconic Idol champion is – Kelly Clarkson or Carrie Underwood?

As you all know, Clarkson was Season 1’s champion, while Underwood took home the trophy for Season 4. Since then, they’ve become the franchise’s biggest successes with multiple Grammys wins, countless number one songs and millions of albums sold between them.
In response to Tylt’s poll, both superstars took to Twitter to slam the publication for trying to pit them against each other.
“I think we’re both winning in life and pretty blessed! Singers, mamas, CEO’s…” Clarkson wrote. “#AmbitiousBlondes go ahead Carrie Underwood.”
Underwood responded, writing, “Whatever, girl, I voted for you! But seriously, I do wish more publications would just celebrate women’s success without pitting them against each other… Just my thoughts…anyway… Love ya’! Hope you’re well!”

Although they were on the same page with this, it seems that people just didn’t believe that there was no bad blood between them – even after Underwood sent Clarkson a nice gift box full of clothes from her activewear line, Calia by Carrie Underwood.
Thank you @carrieunderwood This apparel cake idea was adorable! I’m just now receiving it because it’s been at Starstruck! Love all your gear girl! #Calia #FannyPackForTheWin pic.twitter.com/aQTU6U6YL2

To put an official end to their “feud,” Clarkson took matters into her own hands at the Radio Disney Music Awards on Friday (June 22). While walking the red carpet, the “Whole Lotta Woman” singer spotted the country star and they took photos together – showing that all there is between them…is love.
Additionally, Clarkson spoke to Entertainment Tonight after the photo above was taken to address the “ridiculous” claim that the two were feuding.
“Everybody always try to pit me and Carrie against each other, so when I saw her I was just like, ‘You know what? Let’s just end this right now and get a picture together because we’re never in the same place”,” she said. “People always try to put it together that we’re, like, enemies, and we don’t even know each other well enough to be enemies!”
These ladies handled the situation with class and grace – and the rumors are once and for all, put to rest.
