Lainey Wilson just gave a major hint about whether or not she will be returning to Yellowstone.
Wilson made her acting debut in the Paramount Western drama as Abby, a local musician and love interest for Ian Bohen’s character Ryan.
She joined the cast in Season 5 after show creator Taylor Sheridan reached out to feature her music in the show’s second season. This connection led Sheridan to eventually offer to write a character specifically for Wilson into the show. Wilson ended up appearing in 4 episodes, and as of today, seven of her songs have been featured in the Yellowstone soundtrack.

Will Lainey Wilson be returning to Yellowstone to reprise her role?
After a lengthy hiatus that began in 2022, with production halting for over a year, Yellowstone officially announced that the show is set to return on November 10, marking the series’ conclusion. Although the release date is set, the cast for the final part is still a mystery. The only confirmed absence is Kevin Costner, who won’t be returning to wrap up his role as John Dutton.
However, during a recent chat with Entertainment Tonight at the premiere of Twisters, which features her song “Out of Oklahoma” on its soundtrack, Lainey Wilson gave fans a big hint about whether they can expect her return in the series’ final part.
“I can’t wink, but I’m doing something with my eye right now,” Wilson said. “It’s good news, I’ll tell you that.”
She continued, “Honestly, I don’t know when exactly they’re gonna start back up… the truth is, we’re trying to make sure that we have enough time to get in there and get it done, ‘cuz we’ve still got a lot going on right now, but it’s a priority.”
Wilson currently has a very packed schedule, as she is on her “Country’s Cool Again” tour, which doesn’t wrap up until the end of this year.
Hopefully, she can find a break in between her busy schedule to be able to film!
