Who won the People’s Choice Award for “The Female Country Artist”?

While every singer nominated has an incredible reason to take home the trophy, only one person can.

That person was …. LAINEY WILSON!

Lainey took the stage to accept the award and declared that the last couple of weeks have been “crazy,” likely referencing her first-ever Grammy win two weeks ago.

“Y’all, I am so proud of country music right now. And I am so proud to be a part of this generation of country music. I feel like everybody looks different, and sounds different, and has a different story and comes from different walks of life,” Wilson told the crowd.

“And it truly is the storytelling in country music that keeps drawing people to it, and I just want to say, thank y’all so much for letting me tell my story.”

Lainey’s win came moments after she took the stage to perform her new single, “Country’s Cool Again.” Watch Lainey’s performance below.
