Lainey Wilson’s Career Comes Full Circle With New Collaboration
Two decades before she solidified herself as one of country music’s leading stars, Lainey Wilson cut her teeth as a performer by impersonating the Disney Channel character Hannah Montana. From 8th to 12th grade, the Louisiana native portrayed the singer, often doing multiple shows per weekend.
Now, Lainey’s career has come full circle as she has recorded a duet with Hannah Montana star, Miley Cyrus, herself. The pair debuted a duet version of “Younger You” which Miley initially released as a solo track last month.
The reflective tune centers around connecting with one’s younger self, and sends a gentle reminder to not lose touch with who you are. Lainey and Miley were born just six months apart, so Lainey was coming of age right as the show was at its peak.

Hannah Montana Celebrates 20 Years, Lainey Wilson Attends
Stars gathered to celebrate the premiere of the Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special on March 24, 2026. Lainey was among those who walked the red carpet and dazzled in a black embellished jumpsuit with bell sleeves.
The popular teen series made its debut on March 24, 2006, starring Miley Cyrus as a regular girl who lived a secret double life as a famous pop star.

Lainey Wilson and Miley Cyrus’ duet version of “Younger You” ws released to all platforms on Frday, April 17th. With the release, Lainey said that if she could go back and tell her younger self one thing it would be this:
“Hey younger you, you’re gonna impersonate Hannah Montana all throughout high school, playing every birthday party, fair and festival between here and Louisiana and then one day…. you’re gonna have a song with the real Hannah Montana.”
The “Somewhere Over Laredo” singer expressed heartfelt gratitude to Miley for asking her to join in on the “special” song and added:
“If this ain’t a full circle moment, I don’t know what is.”
