Lainey Wilson Attends The 2025 CMA Awards With Her Fiancé Duck Hodges
Ever since Lainey Wilson announced her engagement in February, fans have been wondering…when is she getting married?
Wilson hosted the 2025 CMA Awards on Wednesday night (November 19). She was only the third female artist to host the event solo, following in the footsteps of Reba McEntire and Dolly Parton.
On top of that, Wilson performed twice, first singing a medley of other artists’ hits. Later, she delivered a fun and feisty cover of her own song, “Ring Finger.”

Not to mention, Wilson also won three awards: Album of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year, and Entertainer of the Year.
She celebrated alongside her fiancé, Devlin “Duck” Hodges. They walked the red carpet together and Hodges watched proudly from the audience as Wilson ran the show.

One of Hodges’ proudest moments surely came when Wilson was named the Entertainer of the Year. Wilson, who previously won the coveted honor in 2023, delivered a grateful speech after accepting the trophy from presenter Keith Urban.
“I’mma be honest with y’all. I was just so tickled to be here hosting this thing tonight. I just came into here just wanting to celebrate country music, the love of my life and I know the love of so many of y’all’s lives,” she said.
Wilson thanked Hodges before confirming they’re getting married in 2026. “We’re getting married next year, come on now!” she proclaimed.
Wilson and Hodges have taken their time with wedding planning. She told Taste of Country Nights in August that they hadn’t planned much at that point.
“Well, you ain’t gonna believe this, but we still have not planned it, bless his heart,” she said. “It just seems like everything else is getting planned [instead].“
Wilson added, “Of course we sit around and talk about like, what we would want. Just trying to figure out is [the wedding] big or small? Is cousin so-and-so coming? Is cousin so-and-so not?“
Whenever they do get married, Wilson knows two things…they’ll have jazz music and she’ll wear a dress instead of her signature bell-bottoms. “I hadn’t worn a dress for him yet, and I guess that would be the day to do it,” she told The Kelleigh Bannen Show.
We guess that would be the day to switch things up!
