Legendary Red Dirt Country Singer Gives Health Update After Being Rushed To Hospital

He is one of the most prominent red dirt country singers out there, and he is in need of our help.

On Friday (Feb. 2), legendary red dirt singer Brandon Jenkins asked his family, friends, and fans on social media for prayers as he was rushed to the hospital.

He then revealed he was there for “possible heart issues” and might be there a few days. Although the singer continued tweeting that he would just need some tests before being released, things took a turn on Saturday (Feb. 3). He revealed that he “will require major heart surgery to replace my heart valve.”

Although he did know that he would need surgery, he wasn’t sure when it would take place – until now.

“My surgery to replace my aorta and my aortic valve will be after the 19th,” he tweeted on Tuesday (Feb. 6)

He continued, “I was told the reason for the problem is genetic, something I’ve had all my life just didn’t know it till now. They are letting me go home till the surgery with medication, Just have to take it easy.”

Along with finding out about his genetic condition, he also found out he would have to shave his long beard, something he’s likely been growing for many years.

Because major heart surgery is not a small expense, Jenkins has shared a link to donate to his medical bills. “Like most musicians I don’t have insurance,” the singer wrote on Facebook.
