Luke Bryan Says His Time On American Idol Has Changed Him For The Better

Luke Bryan has been on the American Idol judging panel since 2018. And after seven seasons on the show, it’s safe to say the experience has left its mark on him.

No doubt spending that much time mentoring aspiring artists and helping shape their journeys will change anyone, even a country superstar like him.

In a recent interview with Billboard, Luke Bryan shared how his time on the singing competition has helped him grow personally and given him a broader perspective on the world around him.

He says the biggest impact has been gaining a better understanding of what life is like for the younger generation.

Being part of the show has allowed him to hear so many stories and experiences, which is something he admits he may not have fully grasped if he hadn’t been in this position.

“It’s like having a looking glass into America’s youth,” Bryan said. “Without American Idol, I wouldn’t have a front row seat to the ups and the downs of America’s youth growing up in a new wave of social media, with all the positives and the negatives.”

Bryan also shared that being on the show has made him more open-minded.

Understandably, this can be tricky to develop unless you’re placed in situations where you’re exposed to different people and perspectives.

“I’ve developed a new appreciation for what our youth go through. It’s taught me to come from a small town in South Georgia and see the melting pot that America is. For me to be able to witness that through the youth and their stories and their differences and watching music bringing us all together, it’s been very enlightening for me.”
