The Judges Respond To Solomon’s Cover Of Luke Bryan’s “That’s My Kind of Night”

Luke Bryan was impressed with the singer’s rendition, saying,

I could have guessed someone doing my song, 24 people doing it, and I wouldn’t have guessed you, but that’s what made it special. The little nuances of the arrangement, the thoughts behind that made it you and fresh, and you can truly outdance me. I’m super honored. You did a great job. Awesome.”

Lionel Richie danced during the performance and highlighted the singer’s remarkable ability to perform and create a different character each time.

“Every time you walk out, you invent a new person. You were so solid on Luke’s song that Luke was worried. It was amazing. I loved it.”

Carrie Underwood drew attention to Solomon’s genre-bending gift by saying,

“I feel like there are so many artists out there that when they try to switch up genres, it’s almost believable, but maybe not quite. You fit everywhere. Your voice is perfect for every genre of music, and I don’t know if I’ve ever seen or heard that before.”

Ryan Seacrest then stole the show and, to everyone’s delight, made Solomon teach Luke Bryan some dance moves.

“Just while we’re here at this moment, Luke, you’re going on tour this summer, right?”

Bryan responded apprehensively, “Yeah.”

Then, Seacrest continued, “I think America needs some new moves from you.” Turning to Solomon, he asked, “Would you mind teaching him a few of those moves?”

Solomon responded, “Yeah, I got you, Luke.”

Bryan reluctantly made his way to the stage and started to take direction from Solomon, who asked the band for a beat. Solomon would dance, and Bryan would mimic him. Seacrest even joined in and showed off his moves. The crowd was laughing, and Bryan didn’t hold back.

The entire time, Solomon was providing cues for dancing, such as:, “Let’s add the hips in there. Oh! You got it.”
