Luke Combs Continues To Tease Songs Ahead Of Upcoming Album Release
Luke Combs surprised fans once again by teasing a brand-new song ahead of his upcoming album.
Combs’ new album, The Way I Am, is set to drop on March 20, and leading up to the big day, he’s been releasing songs early that will appear on the 22-song project.
Thanks to Combs, fans have already heard several tracks, including “Back in the Saddle,” “My Kind of Saturday Night,” “Giving Her Away,” “Sleepless in a Hotel Room,” and his latest drop titled “Be By You.”

Not only has he been sharing full tracks early, but Combs has also been posting short clips on his Instagram to give fans a preview of songs they haven’t heard yet.
The latest unreleased track he previewed is a heartbreak song titled “I Ain’t No Cowboy.”
In contrast to his last release, which was a love song he dedicated to his wife, Nicole, “I Ain’t No Cowboy” is a heartbreak anthem.
In the song, Combs sings about losing a girl after trying his best to make the relationship work. He knew from the very beginning, though, that it probably wouldn’t.
A few lyrics from “I Ain’t No Cowboy” go as follows:
“I knew the day I met her / One day I’d have to forget her, but that didn’t stop me / From trying to hold her like, the river holds the rain / She always wanted wide open spaces / And I tried my best to tame her / But I would’ve been better off breakin’ a herd of wild mustangs / I ain’t no cowboy, but I wish I was“
Clearly, Combs is extremely excited about his upcoming album. He can’t even keep the songs to himself before the release day! Fans don’t seem to mind, though. In fact, it’s only making them more pumped for the album to drop.
The Way I Am is definitely a special project for Combs, and one that’s been a long time coming.
He’s been sharing details about it for almost a year now, and back in March of last year, he even posted on X saying he truly believes this could be his best album yet.
I’ve been spending the last couple of weeks working on what my next record looks like and as it begins to take shape I can honestly say I’ve never felt better about one at this stage. It’s early on but I really do think it could wind up being the best record I’ve ever made.

Fans flooded the comment section of the new snippet of “I Ain’t No Cowboy,” saying they can’t wait to hear the full song. A few messages left include:
“One of my new favorites!! 🤠”
“This album is going to be the best yet!🔥”
“yeah I’m ready for this album.”
“Every song on this album is insane! 🔥”
And since Combs has already been releasing songs early, there’s a good chance we might get “I Ain’t No Cowboy” before the full album comes out, too.
