The iHeartRadio Music Awards was held on Thursday night (March 14) at the Microsoft Theater in Downtown Los Angeles.

Artists from every genre hit the red carpet, then into the theater for a star-studded show hosted by The Masked Singer winner T-Pain.

Along with awards, the show was a huge concert and featured performances by Kacey Musgraves, Alicia Keys, Backstreet Boys, Garth Brooks, and many more.

Each genre had one or more awards to give out, with country handing out Country Artist of the Year. Country Album of the Year was handed out a few days before the live broadcast, and went to Jason Aldean for his album Rearview Town.

The Country Artist of the Year nominees were as follows:

Carrie Underwood
Jason Aldean
Luke Bryan
Thomas Rhett
Luke Combs

The time came, and the winner was announced.

Luke Combs won Country Artist of the Year!

He thanked his fans on social media by saying, “To have been nominated for this award with Carrie, Jason, Luke and Thomas was humbling enough… But to win it?! I’m at a loss for words. Thank you to the best fans in the world and all of my friends at iHeart Radio. I’m forever grateful.

We think this award is extremely well-deserving! Combs has been kicking ass and taking names, with his debut album This One’s For You just recently being certified double platinum, as well as becoming the second artist in history to top all five country Billboard charts.
