Lynyrd Skynyrd Performs Historic 50th Anniversary Show At The Ryman
Award-winning rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd took the stage at Nashville’s famous Ryman Auditorium on November 13, 2022 to celebrate 50 years as a band. The iconic group performed their greatest hits in a concert that would ultimately be the final live performance by the last original founding band member, Gary Rossington.
Rossington passed away less than four months later, on March 5, 2023, at the age of 71.

The Ryman show was filmed in its entirety for a television special and released in theaters the following summer. The program emphasized:
“Few bands have had the impact on creating a lifestyle that Skynyrd has with their fusion of blues rock and Southern hard rock swagger.”

Lynyrd Skynyrd Enlists The Help Of Country And Rock Artists For The Live Album
Following the show and subsequent television special, it was announced the that recordings would be crafted into a live album. The group has shared more than a dozen live albums over the course of their career. The last was a remastered collection of their iconic 1976 Live at Knebworth show, which was released in 2021.
Lynyrd Skynyd invited a handful of friends and fellow musicians to join them for some of their biggest hits. The collection includes live collaborations with Jelly Roll, Marcus King, John Osborne (The Brothers Osborne), Brent Smith (Shinedown), and Donnie Van Zant (Van Zant and .38 Special).
Celebrating 50 Years – Live At The Ryman Is Out Now
As of June 27th, Lynyrd Skynyrd’s newest album Celebrating 50 Years – Live At The Ryman is available on all streaming platforms. Additionally, the documentary filmed from the anniversary show is available on DVD.
