Man Waiting For Stimulus Payment Discovers $8.2 Million In His Bank Account

One man who was waiting on his economic stimulus payment got one heck of a surprise when he checked his account at an ATM…a surprise to the tune of $8.2 million!

An Indiana volunteer firefighter, Charles Calvin, said that he stopped by an ATM at a local shop called Family Express and needed to withdraw about $200, but when he pulled his receipt to check the available balance, his jaw dropped in disbelief!

Glancing at the ticket, his available balance said that he had $8.2 million available! Instead of the $1,700 stimulus payment he had been expecting, he’d somehow received a whole lot more.

Shocked and stunned, Calvin quickly made time on Monday to reach out to his bank regarding the situation and find out what was going on. According to the bank, they stated they had returned his balance to normal, but his $1,700 stimulus payment had posted.

“It kind of sucks,” Calvin said in the televised interview with WGN-TV below. “You go from being a millionaire one second then back to being broke again. But hey, once you’re poor you don’t have anywhere else to go but up.”

It’ still unclear how the error came to be printed on Calvin’s ATM receipt, but this is far from the first time this has happened. Just a few months ago, in December 2019, a Texas woman found that she had $37,000,000 in her account and didn’t know where it came from. Unfortunately for her, the bank said it was a clerical error and then fixed it.
