It’s a sad day for The Voice family.
Season 13‘s Janice Freeman has passed away at the age of 33, according to a report from TMZ, and later confirmed by her team.
Freeman rose the fame when she auditioned for the 13th season of the singing competition series The Voice. She wowed all four judges and had Jennifer Hudson and Miley Cyrus fighting over her.
Ultimately, she chose her coach in Miley Cyrus, and became a favorite in the competition.

Throughout the competition Freeman stunned the audience and people viewing from home with her soulful and powerful approach. She was able to transcend genres and even performed a cover of country/folk singer Brandi Carlile.
First reported by TMZ, Freeman passed away on March 2nd after suffering a blood clot at her home and was rushed to the hospital where she passed away around 5:30 pm local time.
Freeman had battled a series of health complications in the last few years including lupus, cervical cancer (which she beat successfully) and even meningitis.
Freeman’s team confirmed her passing on Instagram posting the following on her Instagram Story:
She and Cyrus had a very special bond, with the “Nothing Breaks Like A Heart” singer even helping her buy a house after her time on The Voice. She shared a tribute to Freeman on her Instagram story of a rainbow in her front yard saying, “Thank you Janice Freeman for everything…this represents you perfectly.”
Freeman’s fellow Team Miley teammate Brooke Simpson took to Twitter to reveal her shock over her passing.
I’m just….wow…I dk what to say…I love you.
