Sarah Boles from Grand Lake in Colorado captured a home video of her 13-year-old Shih-Poo named Dash standing face to face with a massive mountain lion.
The courageous pup was standing there without fear at the back door of the home looking through the glass at the mountain lion. The big cat equally had its eyes locked on the dog and the curiosity was through the roof.
“There is a big, big mountain lion on our patio. He…wants to eat my dog,’” Sarah said running out of breath as she filmed.
Dash stood there happily wagging his tail waiting by the glass window as if he was wanting to make friends with the biggest kitty he’d ever laid eyes on!
After staring at each other for a while from about 10 feet away, the mountain lion gets even more curious and walks all the way up to the glass to observe one another eye to eye.
Sarah can be heard anxiously shouting at her pet to get back as the big cat raises its paw trying to claw Dash through the glass.
The dog’s only response was to quietly sit there and wag his tail harder, even when the cat opened its mouth to try and eat him through the glass.
“Not gonna lie, this is really scary,” she said.
After about two minutes, the mountain lion eventually gets bored and turns away to walk off the patio and into the backyard. Dash, sad that his new friend is leaving, starts barking as if to tell him to come back.
“My god, he did it!” Sarah said.
