According to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, a couple from Nashville, Tennessee was inside a downtown storage facility when they were attacked by a mad man with a machete on May 18th, 2020.

The police report said it was 35-year-old Kelvin Edwards who attacked Kevin and Lenne Craft around 2:45pm. Kelven was apparently in distress due to being homeless, and angry because the coronavirus lockdown was preventing him from getting into The Nashville Rescue Mission homeless shelter.

Out of anger, Kelvin got the machete from his storage bin and decided to express his anger by attacking random people. Unfortunately, the Craft’s were the ones he went after and critically injured them both.

“Edwards entered the office and, without warning, repeatedly struck the victims with his machete, even after they were on the floor badly bleeding,” Nashville.gov reported.

Police arrived on the scene within 5 minutes of the attack and Kelvin surrendered himself to them. He was immediately arrested on two counts of attempted murder and put in the back of a police cruiser.

It took six officers using their trauma-care-training to wrap numerous tourniquets around the injured couple’s wounds in attempts to save their lives. The victims were then taken to the Vanderbilt Medical Center, where they’re still in critical condition as of May 18th.
