Lainey Wilson Documentary Coming To Netflix
Fans will soon get to see Lainey Wilson like they never have before. In January, it was confirmed that the “Hang Tight Honey” singer was teaming up with Netflix for a new documentary titled Keepin’ Country Cool. She shared in a statement:
“This was such a special project to make, and I hope that folks who watch it see that no dream is too big and that staying true to who you are will always lead you exactly where you’re meant to be.”
After the film was previewed at the SXSW Film Festival, Lainey wrote:
“Going into this I thought I was going to be sharing some things about me and my life nobody knew, but I truly think during the couple years of filming I figured some things out about myself. I opened the door to my house, my life, my relationships and things I haven’t allowed many people to see.”
The project was designed to follow her “journey from dreamer to Grammy winner.” Keepin’ Country Cool is set to premiere globally on Wednesday, April 22, only on Netflix.
New Trailer Reveals Personal Details About The Country Star’s Life
The official trailer for Keepin’ Country Cool dropped on Wednesday, April 8th. In it, Lainey recalls finding a love for music at a young age. She admits that at five years old, she was more comfortable on stage than anywhere else. She moved to Nashville at age 19 to pursue her dreams and has been grinding ever since.
“A lot of people think this was an overnight success. I’ve been here fourteen years. So, a ‘fourteen-year overnight success,'” says Lainey.
The film will give a raw and unfiltered look at the CMA Entertainer of the Year’s life, including behind-the-scenes footage from her Whirlwind World Tour. Lainey’s summarizes her motivation in one bold statement:
“I’ve spent a decade being the one you didn’t see coming. I am putting everything I’ve built on the line to make sure they never forget the name: Lainey Wilson.”

Lainey Wilson Reveals She Froze Her Eggs
While the 33-year-old pursues her thriving music career, she has put her family plans on hold. She announced her engagement to Devlin “Duck” Hodges in February 2025 and, in a more recent interview, explained they are “taking their time” to plan a wedding.
The new trailer reveals that the singer made the decision to freeze her eggs last year. The film shows Lainey preparing for her egg retrieval procedure, with Devlin by her side. She shares:
“I feel it in my heart that I was called to be a mama, but sometimes the Lord just has other plans.”
