Noah Cyrus Makes A Stunning Grand Ole Opry Debut

“I’ve never played the Opry,” Noah Cyrus said on the July 10 episode of the podcast Sorry We’re Cyrus“Obviously, growing up, we saw Dad play the Opry all the time.”

Of course, Noah, at 25 years old, is the youngest child of country star Billy Ray Cyrus, and she had the opportunity to follow in her father’s footsteps over the weekend.

Stepping into the circle, Noah made her Grand Ole Opry debut on Saturday, July 12.

This performance came one day after the release of her sophomore album, I WANT MY LOVED ONES TO GO WITH ME, which she described as an “immersive interpretation of country music.”

Featuring duets with Ella Langley and Blake Shelton — as well as a song titled “With You,” which was the first song ever written by her dad, Billy Ray — the album is her way of embracing country music.

When it was announced that she’d have the honor of making her Opry debut, Noah wrote on social media:

“The Opry has been a place where country music lives, breathes and echoes through generations…and I’m beyond honored to be stepping into that circle.”

Her Opry Performance

Dressed like Bette Davis in the Antebellum costume drama Jezebel (1938), Noah opened her Opry performance with “New Country,” which she recorded as a duet with Blake Shelton for her new album.

While Shelton was not in attendance, Noah gave a strong performance with her accompanying guitar player filling in on Blake’s vocal section.

In a post on Facebook, the Opry said, “It was great to welcome Noah Cyrus to the circle for her Opry debut!”

On Instagram, the Opry shared some photos of Noah’s performance, which Noah replied to, saying, “A night i’ll never forget.”

That post saw many people compliment her performance from the evening, as well as her outfit.

“U looked beautiful Noah in that white dress,” wrote one fan.

Another fan wrote, “obsessed w this look dude.”

Country artist Emily Ann Roberts wrote, “That dress is so bam girl.”

Other performers at the Opry on July 12 included Mandy Barrett, John Berry, Charles Esten, bluegrass artist Sierra Hull, Jake Kohn, Charlie McCoy, the Opry Square Dancers, and Connie Smith.

The day after her Opry debut, Billy Ray posted a video of himself on a four-wheeler, with Noah and Blake’s duet “New Country” playing in the background.

In the caption, Billy Ray wrote, “Congratulations on your Opry debut!!!”

Noah replied, writing, “My biggest supporter i love you so much!!!!!”
