A Pop Star’s Country Collaboration
In April 2019, pop star P!nk released her latest album, Hurts 2B Human, to much critical acclaim. The album was also well-received by listeners, who helped send it to the top spot of the Billboard 200 albums chart.
It’s an album that most country fans ordinarily wouldn’t have paid much attention to. Though a few diehard country fans may have given it a listen after being exposed to P!nk’s chart-topping 2016 duet with Kenny Chesney, “Setting the World on Fire.”
But another, newer collaboration is actually the thing to credit for causing country fans to listen to P!nk’s music right now.
In early April 2019, news broke that P!nk had joined forces with one of country music’s powerhouse vocalists for a new duet. That vocalist was none other than Chris Stapleton, who lends his voice to the pop star’s new song, “Love Me Anyway.”
The song was an instant hit with fans upon its release. Despite its non-single status, the song still managed to chart at the 96th spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Fans raved over the duo’s vocal performance in the song, noting how their entirely different tones blended together to create a stunning sound.

After hearing how good “Love Me Anyway” sounded on the recording, fans of both artists anxiously awaited the day the two would unite to sing it live.
That day finally came on May 21, 2019 as P!nk performed in front of a sold-out crowd at Madison Square Garden.
The Crowd Never Suspected A Thing
P!nk started off singing on her own just as she does in the recorded version of the song. The unsuspecting crowd was simply enjoying the beautiful sound of her voice when they suddenly spotted Stapleton making his way on stage.

As you would expect, the crowd went nuts as soon as they realized that Stapleton was in the house. Without missing a beat, the bearded country singer joined in his duet with P!nk, showing everyone that their combined voices also sound amazing together in a live setting.
P!nk later took to social media to reflect on the performance and gush about Stapleton. Sharing a photo from their duet, she wrote, “One of my absolute favorite songwriters, favorite voice, and person. Chris Stapleton. What an absolute honor to share a stage with you my friend.”
She proved her admiration at the end of their performance, as she hugged Stapleton before falling down to the ground in awe of his talent.
We’re sure everyone in the audience felt honored that they got the chance to witness such a gorgeous duet in person! Not only that, but they were the first ones to ever see it performed live!
