Hootie & Gyth Rigdon Crush 1994 Mega-Hit On “Voice” Finale

The Voice/YouTube

From the very start of this Voice season, young Louisiana native Gyth Rigdon has been a frontrunner and star member of Blake Shelton’s team – so there’s no question as to why he was selected to perform with Hootie & The Blowfish for Season 16’s epic finale.

At just 25 years old, Gyth has taken what once was just a pipe dream for him and turned it into a bonafide career with incredible prospects – all by choosing to appear on The Voice. This young man has been performing for quite some time, but never really got the big break he’d been looking for…until now.

With his appearance on The Voice and subsequent rockstar performances, he truly has carved out a place for himself within country music and developed a die-hard group of fans along the way.

Now, during the last episode of the entire season, Gyth is taking the stage for the final few moments of the show that has brought him incredible exposure and helped him get noticed by some of the biggest names in the industry – including Blake Shelton.

Tonight, along with guest performers, Hootie & The Blowfish, Gyth joined them for one of the most rousing covers of their chart-topping smash hit “Hold My Hand.” A notable pairing, Hootie & The Blowfish is headed up by none other than country music phenomenon, Darius Rucker – so these two go together exceptionally well.

With a scorching take on their 1994 mega-hit, they had everyone singing along with them as they lit up the stage like a thousand volts – and there is no doubt in our mind that if Gyth keeps giving live shows like this – he will surely find a place among the stars.
