Post Malone Join Dierks Bentley & Zach Top For ’90s Parody Act
Dierks Bentley brought his 2025 Broken Branches Tour to Salt Lake City last week, performing at the Utah First Credit Union Amphitheatre alongside rising country star Zach Top.
Post Malone joined the duo to perform the hit “Sold (The Grundy County Auction Incident)” for part of their ’90s country parody act, the Hot Country Knights.
The group is a satirical country band created by Bentley, where he performs as his alter ego Douglas “Doug” Douglason. The group plays up 1990s country clichés with comedic flair.
Top has guested before as “Billy Bottoms”, bringing his own bluegrass-meets‑’90s country energy to the mix.
Malone appeared in a mullet as hilariously awful as Bentley, joining in on the fun and surprising the crowd.

Background On The “Hot Country Knights”
About five years ago, the “Drunk on a Plane” singer debuted the Hot Country Knights – a comical parody band, featuring the 90s country-inspired alter egos of each of his band members. They include lead singer Douglas ‘Doug’ Dougalson, lead bass player Trevor Travis, lead guitarist Marty Ray (“Rayro”) Roburn, keytar/fiddle player Terotej (“Terry”) Dvoraczekynski, steel guitarist Barry Van Ricky, and percussionist Monte Montgomery.
In addition to releasing a few original songs, the group regularly shares skits and funny moments from their time on the road on their YouTube channel. The Hot Country Knights have been a highlight of the Broken Branches Tour, closing out the shows with covers of 90s country hits.
Zach Top As Billy Bottoms
In June, Top got in on the action and introduced an alter-ego of his own. Billy Bottoms entered the stage in distressed denim, complete with tall white socks, a cigarette, and oversized ’90s sunglasses.
He has been performing as Billy at various shows on the tour and him and Bentley have been having just a bit of fun with it.
