Sadie Robertson and her husband, Christian Huff, welcomed their first child on May 11, 2021. They had a baby girl, and named her Honey James Huff.
After watching Sadie grow up on Duck Dynasty her followers have loved watching her become a mom. She often shares photos of Honey on social media, and her fans can’t get enough.
On Tuesday (September 14), Sadie shared yet another adorable photo of her daughter. The photo was a family snapshot of her smiling at Honey, who was being held by Christian.
However, Sadie had some less-than-happy news to share in the photo’s caption. She said the picture was taken days before Honey came down with Respiratory syncytial virus, commonly known as RSV:
“just a pic from the beginning of last week before RSV hit!” Sadie wrote. “thanks for all the prayers friends! we are on day 6 and I’m thinking she’s looking a little better today. still some days to come, but hoping each day continues to get better!“

According to the Mayo Clinic, RSV “causes infections of the lungs and respiratory tract. It’s so common that most children have been infected with the virus by age 2.” The Mayo Clinic states infants like Honey “are most severely affected by RSV.“
Even though Sadie thought Honey was on the mend when she revealed her sickness, things got worse. On Friday (September 17), Sadie said Honey had been hospitalized:
“The past few days have been very tough. Watching your child sick is one of the most heart breaking things. Seeing her little struggle brings me to tears like I have never cried…” Sadie wrote next to a photo of her snuggling Honey in her hospital bed.

Sadie shared an encouraging update on Saturday (September 18). It was Honey’s tenth day with RSV and her fourth day in the hospital.
“thank you for your prayers...” Sadie wrote on her Instagram Story. “her oxygen is much better today so we are very thankful for that and no tubes at the moment!!!”
Later that same day (September 18) Sadie shared yet another bit of good news. Honey got to come home!
“4 days in the hospital and this girl is happy to go home!” Sadie said in and Instagram post. “She is still very congested with a bad cough, but her oxygen was good enough to get better from home…we are so so grateful!”
Sadie thanked her followers for praying for Honey. “we truly did feel your prayers!” she said.
We’re so happy to hear that Honey is feeling better now. You can read Sadie’s full post about her return home below.
