Country Star Allegedly Staged Photoshoot On Private Property Without Permission

On July 21, Shaboozey posted a series of photos of himself under the big sky of Montana, writing “Heaven is in Montana.”

There, he can be seen posing in a field with tall grass, chewing on a piece of straw.

He can also be seen with his friend, fashion model Slomo, who is pictured smoking near several bales of hay.

However, these photos were allegedly taken on a private tract of Montana land without permission from the property owner.

The Trespassing Accusation Against Shaboozey

Taking to social media to express her concern, Lexie Kottwitz, whose family owns the property Shaboozey allegedly trespassed on, wrote a public statement on July 24 about the situation.

Starting her letter, which was addressed to Shaboozey, Lexie said, “I am writing you in regards to a recent and unexpected visit that you made to our family’s private property in Montana. While we understand the appeal and beauty of the land out here —the wild skies, the untouched nature, the deep quiet —we were taken aback to learn that you crossed into our private acreage without permission, on social media, no less.”

Continuing, she writes, “Here in Montana, the land is not just land. It’s a way of life.”

From there, she writes of the “generations of families” who have “drawn strength” from the land, adding, “With that comes a deep respect for personal property and the understanding that stewardship and boundaries go hand in hand.”

She then stated:

“Trespassing, whether by a stranger or a celebrity, goes against those values. Our family has worked hard to preserve this space, not just for ourselves but for our community and our heritage. That respect is something we extend to others, and it’s something we respect in return.”

According to Montana law, “A person convicted of the offense of criminal trespass to property shall be fined not to exceed $500 or be imprisoned in the county jail for any term not to exceed 6 months, or both.”

Lexie went on to write, “I trust this incident was not malicious, but it’s important you know that this land is not open to the public for exploration, no matter how scenic or symbolic it may seem from the outside.”

Concluding her letter, she wrote:

“We welcome you to our big, beautiful state that prides itself on having acres upon acres of public land to enjoy. We also welcome you to build relationships with the folks that reside here; we are pretty friendly people. A phone call or door knock would have been the right thing to do. Please respect our values moving forward.”

Since writing this open letter, the post has been made private. No charges have been pressed against Shaboozey.

In the comments, several people have noted the danger of smoking beside hay bales, as Shaboozey and Slomo were pictured doing.

Shaboozey’s Interest In Montana

This is not the first time Shaboozey has expressed interest in Montana.

Back in August of 2024, Shaboozey posted on X, formerly Twitter, of his desire to move to Montana.

That same day, he posted a freestyle rap about the state.
