A viral moment was captured on camera Saturday, July 3, 2021, when dozens of shoppers paused and joined together in an impromptu performance of “The Star-Spangled Banner” at a Walmart in Texas.
The footage pans across the fairly busy store as people were more than likely picking up some last-minute items for the big celebration on the 4th. According to the video, one woman began singing in front of the American flag, and soon everyone in the store halted their shopping and joined in. Hands over their hearts, men, women, and children all sang together in unison. If you listen closely, you don’t even hear the Walmart checkout lanes scanning items – the entire store appears to come to a pause.
Recorded by several people, one video that went viral was posted to TikTok by a user with the handle @raised..right and original video credit going to Cody Bill Schrage.

Following the impromptu anthem, all the participants burst out into applause before heading back to their own errands.
