Team Blake Member Shows Off Impressive Range In Gorgeous Cover Of Faith Hill Hit

From the get-go, it was obvious that Keisha Renee was going to be one of the brightest stars on this season of The Voice. Her blind audition performance of Don Gibson’s “I Can’t Stop Loving You” prompted all four coaches to turn their chairs for her. She ended up choosing Blake Shelton as her coach, and she’s been with him ever since.

Week after week, Renee has impressed viewers with her soulful vocals and gospel-like approach to country hits. Based on the quality of her previous performances, Renee certainly had a lot to live up to when she took to the stage on Monday night (November 27).

Renee more than exceeded expectations with her performance of a major country hit from the 1990s. The song she chose was Faith Hill‘s “It Matters to Me,” which topped the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and crossed over to claim the 74th spot on the Billboard Hot 100.

At the end of 1996, “It Matters to Me” ranked as the 14th best country song of the year, according to Billboard‘s chart data. Today, it remains one of Hill’s most well-known works.

Since Hill is such a powerhouse vocalist, “It Matters to Me” is perfectly structured for someone who has an extensive range. That’s exactly the type of singer Renee is, and she sensationally showcased her range throughout the duration of her performance.

Just when the audience thought that Renee couldn’t sing any higher, she surprised them all by reaching a note way up in the rafters. But just as much power could be found in the softer, lower moments, which is what made her performance truly remarkable.

You’re sure to find yourself covered in goosebumps by the time you finish watching Renee’s cover of “It Matters to Me” in the video below. We think she has a real chance to win this thing!
