Actor Quinton Aaron Of “The Blind Side” Fame Hospitalized In Atlanta
Quinton Aaron, the actor known for playing Michael Oher in the 2009 film The Blind Side, has been hospitalized in Atlanta for several days.
Aaron’s manager shared the news of his hospitalization with TMZ on Sunday (January 25). According to Aaron’s manager, the 41-year-old actor fell at his home last week. He was climbing up the stairs in his apartment when his legs ceased functioning, and he collapsed.
Aaron was rushed to the hospital after the fall. A GoFundMe page to help Aaron’s family pay for his medical bills says doctors placed him on life support after he developed “a severe blood infection.”
“This has been sudden, frightening, and overwhelming for his loved ones,” the page reads. “As he fights for his life, his family is facing an immense emotional and financial burden — medical expenses, living costs, and the uncertainty of how long this road to recovery may be.”
Thankfully, Aaron’s manager told TMZ he’s now in stable condition and has been communicating with his family and team. Doctors continue running tests, although the exact cause of Aaron’s collapse remains unknown as of press time.
Quinton Aaron’s family thanked his fans for the love and prayers sent his way during his hospitalization.
Who Is Quinton Aaron?
Quinton Aaron was born in New York in 1984 and moved with his family to Augusta, Georgia, as a young child. He started acting in the 2000s, appearing in projects such as Be Kind Rewind, Mr. Brooklyn, and The Ministers.
Then, in 2009, Oher appeared in his most recognizable role. He played Michael Oher in The Blind Side, a movie about the real-life football player of the same name.
The Blind Side also starred country music singer Tim McGraw and esteemed actress Sandra Bullock. Bullock won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance as Leigh Anne Tuohy. Additionally, the movie itself was nominated for Best Picture.

After The Blind Side, Aaron appeared in a long list of movies and TV shows, including Gods of Medicine, 1982, The Appearing, My First Miracle, Left Behind, and Mothers and Daughters.
His most recent roles were in 2025, when he played Earl in Experiment 77 and Raw Dog in War Dawgz.
Also in 2025, Aaron revealed he’d lost 200 pounds. He opened up about his journey, telling TMZ he turned to food for comfort after his mother died in 2008. He gives his wife, Margarita, credit for helping him pursue a healthier lifestyle and for being a steadfast supporter in all aspects of life.
“Mentally, physically and emotionally, she has been my confidant and shelter through my storms,” Aaron said. “I truly believe God was blessing me with one of his Angels when he sent her to me.”
Aaron shared the news of his weight loss in October, just three months before his recent collapse and hospitalization. We’ll be praying for his quick and complete recovery.
