In 2011, country trio Lady Antebellum took the Grammy Awards by storm, winning Best Country Album, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Country Performance by a Duo/Group, and Best Country Song for “Need You Now.”
One year prior, they won Best Country Performance by a Duo/Group for “I Run To You” and a year later, they won Best Country Album for Own the Night. In 2018, they were again nominated for Best Country Duo/Group Performance for their song “You Look Good,” as well as best album for Heart Break.
Although they didn’t come home with a Grammy this year – the award went to Little Big Town for “Better Man” and album of the year went to Chris Stapleton- they kept their spirits up and still had the time of their lives.
While they were getting ready for the big night, they let us in on a secret – that only 2/3 of their group would be attending the night’s festivities. On the band’s Instagram story, Charles Kelley can be seen holding up a cardboard cutout of their female counterpart, Hillary Scott, with the caption, “Getting Grammy ready and had to improvise on Hillary.”
Attending the pre-telecast, where most of the country awards were given, Dave Haywood and Charles made sure to take a band photo including Hillary’s cardboard cutout!
Fans are probably wondering why Hillary didn’t make the trip with her bandmates. Well, she’s expecting twins pretty much at any moment! She is due in February, but for twins, having them a little early is very common.
Hillary posted a cute video of her at home in Nashville during the Grammy Awards, showing off her baby bump.
Dave, Charles, and their wives were definitely missing Hillary and her husband Chris on Sunday night (Jan. 28).
