About “Bridge Over Troubled Water”
“Bridge Over Troubled Water” is considered one of the greatest songs of all time. Written by folk rock duo Simon & Garfunkel, it was released in January 1970 as the second single from their fifth studio album, Bridge Over Troubled Water. The track went on to win five awards at the 13th Annual Grammy Awards, including Grammy Awards for Record of the Year and Song of the Year.
The song serves as a metaphor for someone going through a difficult period in their life.
When you’re down and out / When you’re on the street / When evening falls so hard / I will comfort you / I’ll take your part / When darkness comes / And pain is all around / Like a bridge over troubled water / I will lay me down / Like a bridge over troubled water / I will lay me down
