Six more hopefuls were sent home during Monday night’s episode of The Voice (May 5), revealing the Top 8 who will vie for America’s votes.
The Voice Season 27 is only one week from its live shows and two weeks from the finale. Monday’s episode featured Night 2 of the Playoffs. The first round of Playoffs aired a week prior and featured performances from the five remaining members of Team Kelsea and Team Adam. Each coach had to choose which two team members they wanted to advance to the Live shows.
On Night 2 of the Playoffs, Team Legend and Team Buble contestants performed in hopes of surviving elimination. With the help of Mega Mentors Sheryl Crow and LeAnn Rimes, the 10 Voice hopefuls sang their hearts out. But ultimately, six contestants had to go home.
The singers chosen by their coaches to advance to next week’s Live shows are:
Team Kelsea’s Iris Herrera and Alanna Lynise.
Team Adam’s Lucia Flores-Wiseman and Kolby Cordell.
Team Legend’s Bryson Battle and Renzo.
Team Buble’s Adam Davis and Jordyn Kree.
In a surprising move, the coaches were informed at the end of the episode that they can bring back one eliminated team member. The coaches’ picks will be revealed during next week’s episode.
For the first time this season, the coaches will not be able to determine the future of their contestants. Starting next week, May 12, America will have the opportunity to determine the fate of the remaining contestants during the Live shows.

The final eight will perform in the semi-final round on Monday, May 11. Five will be named finalists the following night as three are sent home. This format allows for the possibility that one coach may not have a contestant in the finale.
Night one of the finale is scheduled to air live on May 19, and the crowning of the new champion will take place on May 20.
The Future Of The Voice
The Voice has officially been renewed for a 28th season, but NBC has yet to reveal when it will premiere. In late April, Snoop Dogg revealed that he will be returning as a coach after taking a season off.
“This is a great opportunity for me to show that I really understand music and to be a real coach,” he explained during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, “and to really give direction to some of these artists that could be today’s next big thing.”
The rest of the coaching lineup for Season 28 has not yet been announced.
