The day after  (August 11), Branch released a statement to PEOPLE announcing her separation from Carney.

To say that I am totally devastated doesn’t even come close to describing how I feel for myself and for my family,” she said. “The rug has been completely pulled from underneath me and now I must figure out how to move forward. With such small children, I ask for privacy and kindness.”

On Friday (August 12) it was reported that Branch had been arrested for domestic abuse. Cops in Nashville were called to the home she shares with Carney and according to the police report, Branch admits she slapped her husband “one to two times.”
