Not only is this season shaping up to be one of the most cutthroat viewers have seen, but it’s also full of a lot of surprises.

They’ve mixed things up this season by adding new rules. For example, host Carson Daly was given the power of a “Carson Callback,” which allowed him to bring back one singer who didn’t get any chair turns during the blind auditions.

Another first this season comes from coach Michael Bublé. In a clip shared on the show’s Instagram, Bublé somehow managed to break his iconic red chair during filming… which is something that no coach has ever done before.

The video starts with a clearly confused Bublé repeatedly pressing his red button, saying it’s stuck. Fellow coaches Niall Horan and Snoop Dogg watch from the side, laughing at the situation.

“Yep, another first,” Bublé says to the camera. “The first time a ‘Voice’ coach has ever broken his chair.”

It looks like the “Feeling Good” singer has been getting a little too excited during the blind auditions. Apparently, he’s been pressing the red button way too hard while trying to turn his chair for contestants.

“You’re probably too aggresssive, Mike,” Snoop Dogg says. “Be nice.”

The video then cuts to several crew members gathered around his chair, trying to fix the problem.

“Talent so good I broke my chair,” Bublé commented. “The producers said that was a first, but they should never have underestimated my enthusiasm.”

Fans also couldn’t help but comment on the hilarious accident. A few of the messages on the video read:

“I didn’t think that was possible”

“Ah nothing wrong with gettin a bit over excited. Did they not know to make it Mike proof?”

“Michael broke the chair but he still came through as always! Have to shake up the entertainment sometimes!”
