If there is any song sure to spark emotion within those with even the coldest of hearts, “Hallelujah” is definitely at the top of the list. Surely on the track to superstardom, a talented young singer goes viral following her haunting delivery of Leonard Cohen‘s iconic ballad.

The young talent, Samantha Harvey, takes an emotional approach to the song, baring her soul through her heart-wrenching delivery of the lyrics. While Harvey flawlessly executes her entire performance, you come to realize just how talented she is at the pinnacle moment of the song, where she delivers the chilling lyrics “It’s not a cry you hear at night, it’s not someone who’s seen the light, it’s a cold and it’s a broken Hallelujah.”

The young singer-songwriter has accumulated a combined 34.6 million views on her YouTube account, with her rendition of “Hallelujah” reaching over 500,000 views alone. Prior to pursuing a career in music, Harvey worked as a maid before drawing attention from the media through a series of impressive covers of songs by popular artists, including Dolly Parton‘s “I Will Always Love You.”

“Hallelujah” was originally written by Cohen in 1984, reaching little initial success until it was covered by singer-songwriter Jeff Buckley in 2001.
