American Idol finalists Caleb Lee Hutchinson, Maddie Poppe, and Gabby Barrett are battling it out for the first-ever Idol title on the hit series reboot season.

Showing exactly why he’s made it all the way to the final three, 17-year-old Hutchinson delivered a foot-stomping rendition of Johnny Cash‘s iconic ”Folsom Prison Blues.”

While it isn’t clear whether or not Hutchinson will take home the big win in the season finale airing tonight (May 21), the talented young vocalist already earned himself a hit with his finale single ”Johnny Cash Heart.” Soon after it’s release, Hutchinson’s tune became a Top 10 hit on iTunes’ country chart.

The 17-year-old singer took to Twitter to express his gratitude to his loyal following of fans, writing, “Thank you so much guys, y’all have no clue how much this means to me. I love y’all so much.”

American Idol returns tonight (May 21) for the second night of performances, superstar artist set to take the stage including country artist Darius Rucker.
