The highly anticipated 53rd Annual CMA Awards has finally arrived and the results are beginning to be unveiled, including the highly coveted award of “Single of the Year.”
Lara Spencer and Deana Carter walked on stage to present the award. They read the nominees, which were as follows:
“Burning Man” – Dierks Bentley feat. Brothers Osborne
“GIRL” – Maren Morris
“God’s Country” – Blake Shelton
“Millionaire” – Chris Stapleton
“Speechless” – Dan + Shay
The winner, as Spencer and Carter announced, was Blake Shelton for his song “God’s Country”!

Shelton released “God’s Country” on March 29, 2019 as the first single and partial title track from his upcoming compilation album Fully Loaded: God’s Country. It was written by Hardy, Devin Dawson, and Jordan Schmidt and reached number one on both the Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay charts. This also marks Blake’s first CMA Award win since 2014. Congrats to Blake on this well-deserved win!
