In 2019, Miranda Lambert hit the road with an all-female lineup on her Roadside Bars & Pink Guitars Tour.

Her opening acts included Maren Morris, Ashley McBryde, Tenille Townes, Elle King, and Caylee Hammack, with the occasional appearance of her band, The Pistol Annies.

Like she does on many other tours, she brought out her opening acts out for a song and one night, they sang “Fooled Around And Fell In Love.”

The song, which was first written and performed by blues guitarist Elvin Bishop, has been covered by many artists including TG Sheppard, Mark Wills, and even Rod Stewart.

Not only do we think it is one of the best collaborations this year, so did the Academy of Country Music! Their official collaboration was nominated for Musical Event of the Year, and on Monday (Sept. 14), it was announced that “Fooled Around And Fell In Love” had won an ACM Award!

A well-deserved win in a tough category, which included Garth Brooks and Blake Shelton’s “Dive Bar,” “10,000 Hours” by Dan + Shay and Justin Bieber, Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus’ “Old Town Road,” and “What Happens In A Small Town” from Brantley Gilbert and Lindsay Ell.
