Alec Baldwin Posts Update After Accident, Shares How He And Stephen Are Doing

Later on October 13, Alec Baldwin posted a video on Instagram to share what led to the crash. He confirmed that he and Stephen were in town for the film festival.

According to the actor, while driving through East Hampton, they were cut off by another vehicle, which he described as “a big garbage truck.”

A guy cut me off in a truck. A big garbage truck the size of a whale,” Alec said. “...It must have been something commercial, taking away material from a construction site. It was the biggest garbage truck I’ve ever seen.”

Alec said to avoid hitting the garbage truck, he swerved and crashed into “a big fat tree.

He revealed that the car actually belongs to his wife, Hilaria Baldwin, who competed on the current season of Dancing with the Stars. Hilaria danced with professional dancer Gleb Savchenko for four weeks before their elimination from the competition on October 7.

Alec said Hilaria’s car “is pretty smashed up,” but he and Stephen are both fine.

He ended his video by thanking the East Hampton Police Department. Now, he plans to head to Los Angeles to be with Hilaria and his family. “I’m still so proud of my wife,” he said. “Hilaria, I love you more than anything.
