Colin Stough Arrested After Allegedly Crashing His Car Outside Of Nashville
Country singer and American Idol alum Colin Stough was arrested over the weekend on multiple charges.
According to AL.com, the Tennessee Highway Patrol responded to a call concerning a single-vehicle crash outside of Nashville at 1:24 AM on Friday (February 28). That’s when officers encountered and eventually arrested Stough.
The 20-year-old singer was charged with DUI, underage consumption of alcohol, and failure to exercise due care. TMZ, who first reported on Stough’s arrest, claimed he was taken to the hospital to get checked for injuries before he was booked. He eventually bailed out.
Stough’s representatives did not immediately respond to AL.com’s request for a comment.
Since his arrest, Stough has continued to post on his Instagram feed and Stories. On Sunday (March 2), he posted a picture of himself in a car, which he captioned, “Happy Sunday.”
Colin Stough Finished In Third Place During Season 21 Of American Idol
Stough rose to fame when he competed on Season 21 of American Idol in 2023. He quickly became a fan-favorite contestant and also earned a lot of praise from the judges.
Katy Perry once described Stough as “the Brad Pitt of country music.” He brought that unmistakable sense of charm to his covers of songs by artists such as The Allman Brothers Band, Staind, and Keith Urban.
Stough eventually advanced to the finale. As a finalist, he got the chance to sing Conway Twitty’s “Slow Hand” with judge Luke Bryan.
Stough finished in third place behind runner-up Megan Danielle and winner Iam Tongi.
Since Idol ended, the young singer has kept busy releasing new music and performing live shows. He still has multiple shows on the books for 2025, including a concert in Saratoga Springs, New York, on Thursday (March 6).
He’ll follow up with performances in Rutland, Vermont, Lincoln, Rhode Island, and Pawling, New York, on March 7, 8, and 9. All of those shows are still scheduled to go on as planned.
