American Idol‘s Top 20 Becomes The Top 12
American Idol‘s Top 20 contestants performed for America’s votes on Sunday night’s (April 23) episode. In a move that angered some viewers, voting was not open until AFTER the show ended at 11 PM ET. Voting remained open until 9 AM ET on Monday morning (April 24).
The results show aired on Monday night. Ten of the Top 20 contestants were saved by America’s votes. Judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry, and Lionel Richie choose two other contestants to complete the Top 12.

The Idol Top 12 Revealed – Who Made It…And Who Was Eliminated?
The Top 12 contestants were gradually revealed throughout the night. One by one, we learned the following ten artists were saved by America’s votes:
- Wé Ani
- Warren Peay
- Haven Madison
- Tyson Venegas
- Colin Stough
- Marybeth Byrd
- Oliver Steele
- Iam Tongi
- Zachariah Smith
- Megan Danielle
Michael Williams, Hannah Nicolaisen, Mariah Faith, Nailyah Serenity, Paige Anne, Matt Wilson, Kaeyra, Olivia Soli, Lucy Love, and Nutsa were left to perform for the judges in the hopes of securing one of the last two spots in the Top 12.
The judges had a tough decision to make after everyone performed. So who did they choose to advance into the Top 12? The answer…Nutsa and Lucy Love!

Viewers had to say goodbye to fan-favorite contestants Michael Williams, Hannah Nicolaisen, Mariah Faith, Nailyah Serenity, Paige Anne, Matt Wilson, Kaeyra, and Olivia Soli.
Idol bid farewell to the eliminated contestants on social media. They said, “Their talent knows no bounds!…It’s a tearful fond farewell to these Idols tonight.”
