“American Idol” Reveals Its Top 3 Contestants

American Idol Goes Disney

American Idol is one step closer to finding its winner.

Judges Lionel Richie and Katy Perry returned after being in England for King Charles’ coronation concert last week. Ed Sheeran and Alanis Morissette filled in for them as guest judges while they were gone.

The Top 5 contestants performed on Sunday night (May 14) to vie for a spot in the Top 3. Those contestants were Wé Ani, Zachariah Smith, Colin Stough, Megan Danielle, and Iam Tongi.

All five singers got the chance to visit Disneyland before the episode. It was a fitting trip for them to take, since Sunday night’s episode was “Disney Night.” Each contestant performed two songs from Disney films such as Frozen II, Cars, and The Lion King.

The Top 5 also performed together with special guest Sara Bareilles

Viewers voted for their favorite contestants live during the episode. Voting closed just a few minutes before the episode’s conclusion.

The Top 3, Revealed

The Top 3 Idol singers who are advancing to the finale are…Iam Tongi, Megan Danielle, and Colin Stough!

Unfortunately, this means we had to say “goodbye” to Wé Ani and Zachariah Smith. Idol honored the two eliminated singers in posts on social media.

“Rock on, @realzachariahsmith. His IDOL journey ends tonight, and what a trip it’s been!” they said about Smith.

“The brightest light! It’s the fondest of farewells to the incredible @we_ani tonight,” they wrote about Ani.
