The talented daughter of the legendary country singer provides fans and friends with an update on his condition after months of recovery.
Pam Tillis and many other stars gathered together to wish the legendary Mel Tillis a very happy 84th birthday on Monday, August 8th. Along with a beautiful video from many of his friends wishing him well and a quick recovery, Pam also opened up about his condition since he underwent surgery in January.
Messages of love, great thoughts, and a few musical numbers filled the nearly 10-minute-long video and show just how important he is to all of us in the country music community.
Following his colon surgery in January, Mel has been under medical care to ensure the best recovery possible and his daughter Pam issued a statement on his health along with thanking the community for their support and birthday wishes.
“Thank you all for making this day so special for Daddy,” she says in the press release. “This year has been tough for him but we continue to see improvements as the days go by. Right now, he’s in assisted living since he needs special wound care and rehabilitation. We hope to have him home soon. Our family thanks you all for the outpouring of love. We’ve been truly touched. Continued prayers for Daddy are appreciated.”
The press release also sends thanks from the Tillis Team to many of the organizations in country music for their help in making his day extra special along with CJM Productions and Hank Elliot for producing the beautiful video!
