While fans are thrilled to see newcomers getting recognized in the country music world, some are surprised that certain other artists didn’t receive nominations.
People were shocked to see that Beyoncé was not nominated in any category at this year’s CMA Awards. She debuted in the country scene this year with her album Cowboy Carter, which made history by spending four weeks at the top of Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart, making her the first Black woman to achieve this. She also became the first Black woman to reach No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart with “Texas Hold ‘Em,” which held the top spot for an impressive 10 weeks.
