Proof That Opposites Attract
Blake Shelton is one of country music’s biggest stars, while his girlfriend, Gwen Stefani, is known for conquering the rock and pop genres. But the couple of three years has never let their different musical styles keep them from collaborating.
Early in their relationship, the two paired up to write what would become their first-ever duet. Titled “Go Ahead and Break My Heart,” the track was released as a promotional single off of Shelton’s album If I’m Honest.
Shelton and Stefani have performed the song live many times since.
Blake & Gwen’s Cheery Christmas Duet
That first duet led to a second, which they once again co-wrote. This duet was extra special, as it served as the title track of Stefani’s first Christmas album, You Make It Feel Like Christmas.
The song was a major success, peaking at the ninth spot on the Adult Contemporary chart and the 37th position on the U.S. Holiday 100. In regards to the latter, that’s an accomplishment worth noting, since the Holiday chart is usually dominated by older songs that listeners revisit year after year.
To accompany the album’s release, NBC aired a television special titled Gwen Stefani’s You Make It Feel Like Christmas. During the show, Stefani performed a number holiday tunes, and Shelton joined her for a live performance of their duet.
As much as the couple has accomplished musically throughout their relationship, there’s one big thing they haven’t done yet. They’ve never been in a music video together.
Well, based on a few images Stefani shared on social media, that looks like it’s about to change.
Is A Christmas Video In The Works?
It all started on Sunday (November 18), when Stefani shared a photo of herself looking very much like Marilyn Monroe while riding in a car with a Christmas tree in the back. The image was accompanied by a caption that contained lyrics from “You Make It Feel Like Christmas.”

The second image came just hours later, and Shelton appears in it this time. The country star can be seen seated at a table full of holiday foods while an apron-clad Stefani appears to be spraying the turkey with glass cleaner.
Hey, you want your Christmas turkey to look nice and shiny, right?

As of press time, there is only one more teaser image, with this one showing Shelton and Stefani snuggled up with one another on the couch. A beautifully decorated Christmas tree is placed in the corner, with presents surrounding its base.

A little later, Stefani shared the first clip from the music video. You don’t see too much new material in this clip, since a large portion of it features scenes already depicted in the still images she shared.
But the clip is still enough to give you an idea of what the video will be like. It appears that it will have an old-school, vintage feeling, and that it’s full of Christmas cheer!
