Little Big Shots is back, y’all!
After an almost two-year hiatus, one of our favorite shows, Little Big Shots, returned to television with a new look and a new host. Actress Melissa McCarthy took over for Steve Harvey as host, but the kids that join her are just as adorable and just as talented.
This fourth season of the show premiered on February 24, 2020 and during the March 1 episode, McCarthy met a seven-year-old musician named Avett Ray.

Avett went “viral” in early 2019, at just six years old, when he posted a video of him singing and playing the piano to “Bohemian Rhapsody.”
A few months later, Avett stopped by American Idol on Queen Night to perform the same song he went viral for!
Because fans couldn’t get enough, Little Big Shots had to get him on their show, and we’re so glad they did!
During his introduction, McCarthy revealed that she and Avett have the same favorite song, which is Elton John’s “Rocket Man.” The actress asked him if he would play the song, and he said, “Okay!”
He dove right into a verse and chorus of “Rocket Man,” and afterwards, the two got into a highly entertaining – and musical – fight about the Avett Brothers.
Avett then asked the crowd to sing along to the rest of “Rocket Man” and they happily obliged!
The young boy is talented and quite hilarious, but the most impressive thing is that he does it all while being blind. According to his YouTube channel, he is “blind and visually impaired.”
Having as much talent as he does at his age in incredible, but after finding out he is blind makes what he does even more inspiring. Watch his Little Big Shots appearance in the video below.
