Lisa Marie Presley has died at the age of 54.

Lisa Marie’s mother confirmed the news in a statement saying:

“It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us. She was the most passionate, strong and loving woman I have ever known,” Priscilla Presley wrote. “We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time there will be no further comment.”

Lisa Marie, the only daughter of Elvis and Priscilla Presley, was rushed to the hospital Thursday (January 12) after being found unresponsive by her housekeeper.

TMZ was the first to report that paramedics responded to Presley’s Calabasas, California, home and performed CPR after she went into “full cardiac arrest.” Presley was transported to a local hospital after showing “signs of life” following CPR.

She died at the hospital shortly after.

Lisa Marie Presley was born on February 1, 1968, in Memphis, Tennessee. She was 4-years-old when her parents divorced, and nine when her famous father died.

In 1980, upon the death of her paternal grandparents, Lisa Marie became the sole heir to her father’s estate, which included Graceland. At the age of 25, she took ownership of the estate that was reportedly worth $100 million.

Lisa Marie followed in Elvis’s footsteps and pursued a music career. She released her debut album, To Whom It May Concern, in 2003. Two more albums followed in 2005 and 2012.

She was known as a humanitarian and philanthropist, generously giving of her time and resources. Among her charitable work was her service as chairperson of the Elvis Presley Charitable Foundation. Lisa Marie and the team at Elvis Presley Enterprises founded charities that included Presley Place, Elvis Presley Music Room, and the Elvis Presley Endowed Scholarship Fund at the College of Communication & Fine Arts at the University of Memphis.

Lisa Marie Presley was preceded in death by her son, Benjamin Keough, and her father, Elvis Presley.

She is survived by her mom, Priscilla, her daughters Riley Keough, and twins Harper and Finley Lockwood.
