American Idol finalists Caleb Lee Hutchinson, Maddie Poppe, and Gabby Barrett battled it out for the first-ever Idol title on the hit series’ reboot season in 2018.
Showing exactly why he made it all the way to the final three, and eventually placed second, 17-year-old Hutchinson delivered a foot-stomping rendition of Johnny Cash‘s iconic ”Folsom Prison Blues.”
The talented young vocalist earned himself a hit with his finale single “Johnny Cash Heart.” Soon after it’s release, Hutchinson’s tune became a Top 10 hit on iTunes’ country chart.
The 17-year-old singer took to Twitter to express his gratitude to his loyal following of fans, writing, “Thank you so much guys, y’all have no clue how much this means to me. I love y’all so much.”
