In the wee hours of January 21, Carrie Underwood gave birth to her second child, a son named Jacob Bryan Fisher. Jacob joins big brother Isaiah Michael, who was so excited to meet him. Underwood announced his arrival via a social media post with three photos – one of her holding Jacob, one of Isaiah holding him, and one of her husband Mike Fisher holding him.

Just two-and-a-half months after she had Jacob, Underwood walked the red carpet at the ACM Awards in April — and she looked amazing! The “Love Wins” singer was hard at work – in the gym and the stage – prepping for her upcoming Cry Pretty 360 Tour, which kicked off on May 1st.

Just a couple days before her first tour date, Underwood gave her first interview since Jacob’s arrival. TODAY’s Natalie Morales sat down with the country superstar to talk all things music, working out, motherhood, and more.
The interview aired on May 1st and Underwood even took Morales on a tour of her mobile gym she uses on the road.

Things also got a little serious when they spoke about how Underwood’s 2017 accident, which left her with a fractured wrist and 40+ stitches in her face, changed her.
“I feel a lot more confident in myself even though at the time you’re not really understanding why things happen the way they happen,” she said.

Underwood also revealed if she and Fisher will be adding to their family in the future.
“I do not know at this point,” Underwood said. “You know, it’s such a difficult road to get where we are now. And I’ll have to evaluate after this tour is over. Then we can talk about what’s next. But I’ve been a lot of kind of ‘live in the moment’ lately. And I think that’s good. I am kind of a planner and I really do like knowing what’s around every corner.”
She continued, “If there’s anything the past couple of years have taught me is that you don’t know what’s gonna happen next,” alluding to her three miscarriages before becoming pregnant with Jacob.
