Meet Carrie & Mike’s New Baby Boy

In late January, the Fisher family gained an adorable new addition when Carrie Underwood and her husband, Mike, welcomed their second child. Son Jacob Bryan Fisher was born on January 21, but his mom and dad waited two days before announcing his birth to the world.

Carrie and Mike shared the happy news by posting a few photos of their new baby boy, including one with his dad, one with big brother Isaiah, and one with Carrie.

The photo of Carrie and Jacob caught a lot of attention, as it was a rare look at the superstar singer without any makeup on. And of course, she looked just as gorgeous as ever! (That photo appears second in the slideshow below).

Minimal Social Media Activity Promotes Positivity

Since welcoming her new baby boy into the world, Carrie has remained fairly quiet on social media. She spoke up for the first time a little over a week after Jacob was born, and for an important reason.

Taking to Twitter, Carrie shared a gentle reminder for all pet owners to bring their “fur babies” inside, as the Midwest was experiencing temperatures deep into the negatives at that time.

A few days later, Carrie broke her silence yet again, this time to champion yet another worthy cause. She took to Twitter to respond to a video of elementary school students singing her song “Love Wins” and asking for her help.

As the students shared, their school, which is is California, had been affected by the recent wildfires, and they were wondering if Carrie could help them.

Of course Carrie was happy to help, writing to the students, “It’s so great to see a teacher and her students making a difference in the world!

Just a day later, on February 6, Carrie posted to Instagram for the first time since welcoming baby Jacob. That day she learned that her song, “The Champion,” on which she enlisted the help of rapper Ludacris, had just been certified Platinum by the RIAA.

In addition to celebrating the personal achievement, Carrie wanted to congratulate Ludacris, writing, “This is awesome! Congrats @Ludacris !!!

Carrie Shares Her First Selfie In Weeks

But although Carrie has been slowly easing back into social media since Jacob’s arrival, she hadn’t shared a new photo of herself. That is, until now!

On Saturday (February 9), Carrie shared her first photo of herself since welcoming baby Jacob just shy of three weeks prior. Well, Mike was actually the first to share the photo, but Carrie later reposted it on her own Instagram.

The selfie shows Carrie and Mike snuggled together, each sporting a large red “x” on their hands. The markings are used to raise awareness against modern slavery in a movement called #InItToEndIt, and many celebrities express their support in the same way.

A Cause Close To Their Hearts

This isn’t the first year that Carrie and Mike have used their voices to speak out about this issue. They post a similar type of selfie on a yearly basis. Going back to the start of Mike’s Instagram account, we found three previous #InItToEndIt selfies with the red “x” markings…two with Carrie and one on his own.

The 2018 version of their annual selfie caused quite a bit of buzz when they shared it. One of the red “x” markings was used to cover facial scars on Carrie’s face after suffering a fall at her home in November 2017.

Knowing how much raising awareness for this cause means to Carrie, it makes perfect sense why the first photo she shared since giving birth was her annual #InItToEndIt selfie.

Carrie and Mike have always devoted themselves to charity and causes close to their hearts. As just one example, back in 2010, Carrie competed alongside other country artists in an all-star softball tournament benefiting City of Hope. You can watch highlights from that event in the video below.

Knowing how much Carrie and Mike care about helping others, we’re sure they’re instilling the sort of values into their sons Isaiah and Jacob!
