During a virtual fan club party in June, Carrie Underwood shared the news that she will be releasing her first full-length Christmas album this year.
Country Now reported that Underwood had been working on the Christmas album since wrapping up her Cry Pretty Tour in October 2019.
Then in July, Underwood revealed the album’s release date, title, and cover art. The record is titled My Gift and will be released on September 25.
“So much love has gone into this and I cannot wait to share it with you!” Carrie wrote in the caption to a video introducing the record.
New information about My Gift emerged on Thursday (August 27) when Underwood shared its complete tracklist on social media.
The tracklist shows that Underwood recorded some beloved Christmas classics such as “O Holy Night” and “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.” She also included a few new songs for her fans to enjoy as well.
“The songs on #MyGift are a mix of Christmas classics that are close to my heart and new songs that I hope will become close to yours,” she said.
One of the new songs is titled “Hallelujah,” and was written by Voice coach John Legend. He will also be featured on the recording.
Another featured artist on My Gift is none other than Underwood’s five-year-old son, Isaiah Fisher. She said her eldest son participated in her recording of “The Little Drummer Boy.”
“I can’t wait for you all to hear “Hallelujah” written by and sung with the incredible @JohnLegend, and a very special version of ‘Little Drummer Boy’ featuring my own little drummer boy, Isaiah,” she said.
