They are already parent to five kids and have multiple businesses to run, but that doesn’t mean they are done expanding their family!
In a clip from their October 2019 interview on Sunday TODAY with Willie Geist, Chip and Joanna Gaines dove deep into the reason they ended their wildly successful HGTV show Fixer Upper, as well as life afterwards, including welcoming their son Crew into the world almost two years ago.

Chip told Willie that when thinking of ending Fixer Upper, several counselor-type people said that all their “other stuff” would “come crumbling down.” But just the opposite happened. They have a real estate business, a design business, a popular line of home goods at Target, a furniture line, a restaurant, a brand-new coffee shop, a shopping center in Waco called the Silos, and next year they will launch their own television network!
They also recently became the owners of an abandoned municipal building which they plan on turning into a boutique hotel, which will open its doors in 2021.
You’d think that with their plate this full with businesses and five children, more kids wouldn’t be on their mind…but it is. At least on Chip’s mind!
In the interview, Joanna and Chip spoke about the support they have in each other and exchanged I love yous. Joanna said that she calls Chip “Coach” because of all the ways her husband has coached her over the years.
“Forget coach! I’m talking in a much more romantic sense,” Chip said. “Like, I could see Crew having a little sibling and me being like, ‘I love this woman!’”
Joanna tried getting Willie to change the subject and even said that when she’s 50 (she’s 41 now), Chip will still want more kids.
“I’m like, ‘Chip I think we’ve got enough, I think we’re good!’” Joanna said. “He’s like, ‘I just think we can keep having them!’ I think Chip just loves a full plate.”

“I joke with my friends that I’m going to be that 45-year-old who’s pregnant,” Joanna told PEOPLE in May 2018 before the arrival of baby Crew. “Chip is such a kid at heart and we both love a big family. I’m open to whatever. I’m just having fun with it.”
They are already parents to Drake (14), Ella Rose (13), Duke (11); and Emmie Kay (9), who all have a little buddy their own age, so it’s only fair for Crew to have one, too!
