Post Malone seems to be everywhere nowadays, collaborating with several big names in country music. But one country star he hasn’t worked with yet or even met until recently is Cody Johnson.
This week, Cody Johnson hit a new milestone with his third number-one single, “Dirt Cheap,” topping the Mediabase country chart. The song came out in 2023 and was later certified Gold by the RIAA for selling over 500,000 units. It’s on Johnson’s latest album, Leather, which he is currently promoting on tour.
Post Malone, of course, just released his first country album, F-1 Trillion, last month. The tracklist features duets with leading country artists such as Dolly Parton, Morgan Wallen, Tim McGraw, Jelly Roll, Blake Shelton, Luke Combs, and many more. Since its release, F-1 Trillion has been a huge hit. The album even sold over 500,000 copies before it even came out, making it eligible for Gold certification from the RIAA.

How Did Cody Johnson Meet Post Malone?
During a recent chat with Lon Helton on Country Countdown USA, where Johnson co-hosted, he revealed details about what it was like meeting Post Malone for the first time.
The two crossed paths unexpectedly at the ACM Awards back in May. Johnson met Post Malone while he was in the bathroom taking a smoke break. They hit it off almost immediately, and even have a special trip planned together.
Johnson revealed that they will be going hunting in Texas this fall, with Johnson guiding the trip.
“I’d never met Post Malone, but I knew he was from Texas. He snuck into the bathroom to smoke a cigarette. I walked in after him. We got to talking, and I think we’re gonna go hunting in October. I’m gonna guide him on a hunt in Texas. He’s a genuine guy,” Johnson shared.
This chance meeting sure seems like the perfect, down-to-earth way to meet Post Malone.
