Cole Hauser Opens Up About His Upcoming Spin-Off

Warning, this article contains Yellowstone spoilers.

Following the dramatic finale of Yellowstone, where Beth murdered Jamie and the family sold the Yellowstone land for pennies on the dollar to the Broken Rock Reservation, the Dutton family dispersed across Montana. Kayce Dutton and his family, including Monica and Tate, agreed to reside on a small section of the Yellowstone Ranch.

Meanwhile, Beth and Rip acquired a new ranch outside Dillon, Montana, bringing along their ranch hand and unofficially adopted son, Carter. As the original series concluded, fans felt curious about the fates of their favorite characters. The announcement confirmed that Kayce and Beth will each have their own spinoffs.

Kayce Dutton, portrayed by Luke Grimes, will headline a Yellowstone spinoff titled Y: Marshals, which CBS picked up. The show is rumored to be released in 2026. The brief synopsis of this spinoff reveals that Kayce will join an elite unit of U.S. Marshals in Montana, leveraging his military experience and understanding of the state.

Regarding the Beth and Rip spinoff, actor Cole Hauser, who plays Rip Wheeler, recently shared more details with The Hollywood Reporter.

He reiterated that the series will not be titled Dutton Ranch. While the official name has not been disclosed, he confirmed that the rumored title is not accurate.

What Did He Share About The New Spin-Off?

Cole Hauser, who plays Rip, was asked his feelings about the upcoming spin-off and his time on Yellowstone, and he shared.

“It’s been a tremendous ride, and I look forward to hopefully more years with Kelly, seeing what we can create for the audience that is hopefully as good or better.”

Since he brought up working with Kelly Reilly, the actress who plays Beth, the reporter asked him how he felt about no longer working with his other castmates. To which he confirmed that it is hard to no longer work with his co-stars who have become “great friends.” He shared,

“Not having the cast around certainly [is hard]. Forrie J. Smith [who played Lloyd] has become such a great friend of mine that to think that my right-hand guy wouldn’t be there [is hard].”

Hauser then shared that he hopes fans will get more of Beth and Rip soon!

“But Kelly and I, we’re focused on [Rip and Beth’s] relationship and our love together, and what we’re going to get [them] into. I’m excited just like everybody else. I can’t wait to see what they come up with. Hopefully, we’ll start seeing stuff soon.”
